Rex Ward
Rex is a man for all seasons. He is a native Bristolian and an alumnus of Holston Valley High School, Southern Baptist Seminary and Ridgedale Semina ry of Chattanooga. He is also a member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO)
and the American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS). He has held musical positions in area churches for over 25 years. For over 15 years he was organist for the The Eastman Employee Center performing for
Christmas programs as well as pre-program concerts for Dan Quayle and Tipper Gore.
He had already learned to play accordian, piano and organ but had never heard a theatre organ untill 1978 when he attended a concert in
Knoxville. He was heavily involved in the search for the Wurlitzer at the Paramount, played the debut concert at the Paramount and has been active as house organist ever since. He provides live organ music for
many of the Paramount programs throughout the year. In addition, Rex has performed at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxvile,TN, The
Tampa Theatre in Tampa, FL, The Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga, TN, the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA and the Casa Maņana in Fort Worth, TX.
His expertise in sales has also made him invaluable. As Program Chairman for PTOS, he organizes
our programs at the Paramount. Not only does he keep the Parmount Wurlitzer before the public ears, he and his team of PTOS volunteers keep the Paramount WuliTzer in front of the public eyes by
providing the local advertising in the Tri Cities area for each of our shows.
