Spencer Turbine Co.  - Orgoblo

The blower is a device that compresses atmospheric air to provide pressure at the wind chest to blow the pipes. Most theatre organ blowers were built by Spencer and Kinetic. Spencer built the majority of the blowers. This view of a high pressure Spencer Orgoblo shows the path of air as it is pulled into the intake and compressed by the fans. This is a two stage blower which means that there are two fans coupled to the motor shaft.. The fan closest to the intake (right side) compresses the air from the outside to the inside of the fan where it passes to the second fan and is compressed to approximately double the first fan’s pressure. The compressed air then exits from the opening at the top of the blower case where it is carried to the pipe chambers and fed into the static side of the regulators.
